devils hole

I love getting outta the house... and heading out somewhere... a park, the riverfront... a mall.. just about anywhere...this past weekend was the first step to a summer filled with activites... there was a great hike/trek... im still not too sure if thers a difference between the two... anyway that apart... whirlpool state park... down the Niagara gorge... and wat a sight awaited all of us... the rapids... the rocks... an occasional drunk or a dog on the way... just about everything felt so right.... then there was this trail along the river... for about a mile and a half... leading to this other spot on the gorge.. the devil's hole... and by the time i climbed back up... i was all but exhausted and conveniently blaming the lack of blood in my body :)

The boys in true fashion.. raced up... and all dirty and sported the biggest smiles ive seen!!!

All I wanted to do was sit there... look into the river... and with the gush of wind... we welcomed the buffalo spring(wats left of it) and summer... and the sun set on an almost perfect day!!!

First there was the whole liz hurley wedding fiasco... now people are burning effigies of Richard Gere and Shilpa Shetty... *sighs* its so saddening to see this is what the country has come to.. oh, i almost forgot narayanmurthy and sachin tendulkar's controversies....

Its alarming that in almost every single Indian website.. this seems to be the most important news.. thas much importance is given to trivial incidents like these... and suddenly warrants are filed, cases are moved... all for what... a cake cut... or a peck on the cheek... where is the law when it comes to rape of a minor or armed robbery...

Protest is fine... but I would think the people would need a much worthy cause to fight for... fight for the safety of a girl walking alone in Delhi not against a wedding of two people that dont even stay in the country... for cyring out loud!!!

Such is the state of affairs indeed!

Now who said India is an emerging super power... look back at all this! ;)

men love to look good, feel good and smell good... and claim themselves to be king of the house... and more importantly king of all devices electronic or electrical... but when it comes to handling a styling brush... a hair dryer... or a styling curler... those become creatures from a different dimension :) suddenly the iron it too hot... or the dryer is not a thing of necessity.... and then comes how do u guys do this ever so often... :)

the weekend and the ride back!!!

A weekend getaway... it was more fun than I would hav imagined... I loved Philadelphia... a nice modern city with an old town feel to it... my favorite part was the curious mix of old and new buildings side by side... gives a more earthly feel to the town!!!


The hotel we stayd in was awesome! from thr 28th floor... the city view is simply amazing... on a clear nite... the sky.. the stars... and the buildings... quite a sight I should say! Lazy sunday afternoon... greenish blue river/creek... couple of canoes... tht wasnt us ... we were watching!!! The downtown is beautiful... the eatouts by the side of the road were my fav!

Then there was this eventful ride back to Buffalo... what should hav taken just about 7 hrs took more than 10... and that thanks to a friend who was soo excited ... that we filld up half the gas tank with diesel instead of gas!!!!

One of my fav weekend getaways!!! Will be etchd in my mind forever!
